DAY 1 - WELCOME TO THE WILD

Scenic transfer (4.5 hrs) to Terlingua, gateway to Big Bend

Stop for a memorable welcome dinner in Alpine at Reata Restaurant—a West Texas favorite with bold flavors and warm hospitality

DAY 2 - CANYONS, CULTURE & HOT SPRINGS MAGIC

Coffee + Breakfast at Espresso…Y Poco Mas—a local gem with pastries and stunning views

Hike #1: Grapevine Hills/Balanced Rock Trail
-
Hike #2: Boquillas Canyon Trail (2 miles round trip, easy)—A peaceful riverside trail where you may find locals selling tamales and handmade souvenirs. Bring small cash and water shoes to wade in the Rio Grande.

Soak in Big Bend Hot Springs—heat up in the riverside pool and cool off with dips in the Rio Grande (perfect spot for a sunset toast).

Dinner at the casual and delicious Taqueria el Milagro in Terlingua

8pm: Private Star Party! We’ll gather under Big Bend’s internationally recognized dark skies back at Star Dust for an unforgettable Star Party.
✨ Our private astronomer will guide us through the constellations, planets, and deep-sky objects currently visible. Using telescopes (including a smart telescope for color imaging!), we’ll marvel at nebulas, galaxies, and distant worlds during this magical desert night.
DAY 3 - SUMMIT VIEWS & STARRY SKIES

Drive to Window View Lookout for a photo opp!

Hike #3: Lost Mine Trail (5 miles round trip, moderate)—Iconic Big Bend hike with jaw-dropping views of Casa Grande and the Chisos Basin. At over 6,000 ft, expect cool temps and crisp air.

Afternoon free time: nap in a hammock, read in the sun, relax and enjoy a chair massage on site at Star Dust!

7:30pm: Dinner & LIVE MUSIC at the quirky Starlight Theater in Terlingua
DAY 4 - DESERT ADVENTURES & EPIC OVERLOOKS

Hike #4: Upper Burro Mesa Pour-Off Trail (3.5 miles round trip, moderate)—Bouldering, possible mountain goat sightings, and a dramatic pour-off waterfall.

WHERE YOU'LL BE STAYING
Just outside Big Bend National Park in Terlingua, Texas, Stardust Hotel Luxury Vacation Cabins offer a peaceful and stylish desert retreat. Located on Highway 170, we’re just 5 minutes from the park entrance and 5 minutes from the historic ghost town, with gas, groceries, restaurants, and tour operators all close by.
We’ll be staying in thoughtfully designed A-frame cabins, with two women sharing each A-frame. Each cabin features a queen bed, a cozy living space with a queen pull-out sofa, a full kitchen, and a modern bathroom. Outside, you’ll find a wrap-around deck and private firepit, perfect for relaxing evenings and unforgettable stargazing.
For those wanting more privacy, there are two spots available in a nearby container-style building, offering private queen bedrooms (shared bathroom) with the same full kitchen and amenities.

TRAVEL INFORMATION
FLIGHTS
Long-distance travelers should plan to fly into El Paso International Airport (ELP) and meet the group by 10:00 AM on January 12, 2026, at a designated meeting location near the airport (details will be shared closer to the trip).
We’ll gather as a group and depart shortly after for our scenic drive to Big Bend. This private group transfer is included in your retreat experience.
If you’re unable to arrive by 10:00 AM, we recommend flying into El Paso 1–2 days early and staying overnight near the airport. This also allows time for a self-guided day trip to White Sands National Park (about 1.5 hours from El Paso) or Carlsbad Caverns National Park (about 2.5 hours away). We’re happy to share hotel suggestions and planning tips if helpful.
For your return, you may schedule your departure flight from El Paso anytime on January 18, 2026.

Please do not book flights yet. This retreat requires a minimum number of participants in order to take place. Once we reach that number, we will officially confirm that the trip is a GO and send everyone the green light to book flights, along with detailed flight booking guidance and travel insurance information.
If, for any reason, the retreat does not meet the minimum participation required and is canceled, your $500 deposit will be fully refunded. For all other circumstances, the $500 deposit is non-refundable.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Roundtrip group transportation from the El Paso meeting location to our Big Bend retreat accommodations is included. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the desert landscape as we journey together toward this magical corner of Texas.
